Linux kernel security vulnerabilities are a particular concern in the Cloud
The latest batch of major security vulnerabilities in Linux were documented recently. A number of commentators point out that Linux kernel security bugs of this nature represent a particular concern with Cloud computing. The nature of Cloud systems, in which applications and services -- sometimes virtualised -- are provided over an Internet connection, is inevitably associated with particular security risks.
Like it or not cloud computing brings unique security risks with it, which need to be specifically managed and mitigated. This latest Linux Kernel vulnerability is another prime example of the challenges facing cloud service providers and their customers.
