Hackers can take control of Mac keyboards
Hackers have announced a new keyboard hack for Mac computers which uses compromised hardware to steal private information from the user.
The new hack infects Mac keyboards which can then be controlled by the hacker and used to record secret data such as passwords, credit card numbers of bank account details.
Key logging with hardware is a well-established methodology, but this new form of attack is much more advanced because it can exploit "one of the many weaknesses in Mac OS X" to infect the hardware. The infection is permanent, even if the user wipes the hard drive or replaces every other component.
